That's really what I used to say all the time! Can you relate? For years, one of the biggest challenges I had to overcome as an entrepreneur was learning how to negotiate confidently and skillfully. No matter how many books I read, when it came time to negotiate, I’d get nervous, I wouldn’t ask for what I wanted and I’d settle for less money.
I knew the success of my business depended on my ability to negotiate so I took my journalism skills and my knowledge from over 6 years of studying personal development and decided to start investigating the real reason why I wasn't able to negotiate effectively despite all my efforts to do so.
What I discovered was that most of the negotiation courses and books out there used a competitive approach and taught various strategies but they wouldn’t address the importance of developing the proper mindset and self-awareness necessary to be able to negotiate in the first place.
